Aby and I just returned from a week in Chico. It was interesting to say the least. We saw several new properties, all of which were just not right. Then on our way through Butte Valley we decided to stop in and look at one more- and just like in Goldilocks this one was just right. When you step onto the property a great sigh, you didn't know you were holding in, is released and it sounds like "home." Its perfect. Not too big, Not too small. 2 wells. A handful of outbuildings. Power. Water. Fencing. A year-round creek. White Barn Owls. HOME. It even offers owner financing- which we will need as were were turned down by an additional 4 banks this week. The only flaw, and its not without merit, is the price. It is way overpriced for the area. Its a sentimental price. A price from a man who is in love with this property and wishes he had the time and energy to make it what it totally has the potential to be. It is a price that we must talk him out of. But we have hope and we are powerful. So it WILL work out. I'm not sure how yet but it will and this time next year it will have vines and orchards and gardens and alpacas and cows and chickens and horses and hopefully a house. So we are off to pursue grants. Hopefully people will be nicer than the people we saw this week. I sigh again- and think Siren Song.
